Karolin Van Loon High Jewellery is made from agate geodes, stones with a simple exterior that reveal colourful crystalline formations within. Formed over thousands of years through volcanic reactions, sedimentation, and weathering processes, they are transformed in Karolin Van Loon’s Antwerp atelier into singular pieces of fine jewellery.
Mythos is a lyrical collection inspired by Greek myths and their contemporary relevance, as described by Stephen Fry. Karolin Van Loon has created ten jewels for ten goddesses. The one-of-a-kind South Sea pearls allude to the myth of Aphrodite, who wept tears of joy said to be pearls when she emerged from the sea. Combined with agate geodes and diamonds, each piece acquires a unique character.
For this collection, Karolin works with AAA-quality agate geodes, diamonds regulated by the Kimberley process, South Sea pearls, and 18K rose gold.
